Having Fun with Beagle Puppies Training
Beagle dog training is
actually a not easy thing to do. The temper of as Beagle may be compared
between that of a Golden Retriever and a Terrier. Training them can be
challenging however, there is no need to fear.
One of the best things to
do is to train the Beagle when they are still puppies. Take note that beagle
pups are born hunters. Keep in mind that in Beagle puppies training, you should
remain calm all throughout and do not hit or yell at them since you need first
to establish trust on your pups. Training takes longer time for Beagles that
any other breeds because of their nature.
Since beagle pups wanted to
roam around, they could easily get distracted from time to time. To control
this behavior, you should carry something more interesting than the stuff
around. Entice the puppies with things like a favorite ball, or a delicious
smelling treat, or perhaps a chew bone of appropriate size. When feeding
treats, please give it in moderation since it is high in calories and should
not be given as a meal. Make sure that they obey because you are the boss and
not because they get treats by following you. Though challenging, it is
also better to prepare your backyard for training area and include more interesting
things. You may do it in a spare room or garage. Make sure that there are not
other small things that your dog may get interested into. Let the Beagle get
familiar with the place first so they will focus more on you after that. To prepare your Beagle for
training session, start it with lots of exercises that is not part of training.
They are not used to fetch and return unlike Retrievers. Make them do things
like chasing a ball until they were able to use up some of the reserved energy.
Do not have only 1 ball because they are hunters and has the tendency to move
from 1 ball to another. After exercise, your Beagle is now ready for the
training session. Training should be done regularly and once the dog makes it a
habit, they are inclined to follow it. Things you should consider
in Beagle training
- Easily domesticate the beagle
- Stop pups from biting, jumping and digging
- Optimizing the dog’s pack drive, prey drive and defense g
- Giving importance to dog training education
- Learn basic beagle training commands
- Learn to stop aggression
These things can easily be
learned and training will be a lot easier when you own Beagle training books.
It can also save you time and money since attending a dog aggression class is
very costly. Doing it yourself may be challenging but it will reward you with a
happier and more obedient Beagle. Have fun!
